Castiglioncello – Beaches and Rocky coast
Castiglioncello was an ancient Etruscan village, it is located on a small promontory that ends in the sea.
It is a tourist resort known internationally, also called “the pearl of the Tyrrhenian Sea”. Castiglioncello was a very famous holiday resort for the Italian jet set of the ’60s, they spent their holidays on these beaches such as Alberto Sordi, Marcello Mastroianni, Vittorio Gassmann and Walter Chiari.
It is a small village surrounded by a pine forest and many villas.
The best place to spend a day at the beach is the Baia del Quercetano, a small bay with crystal clear water. A visit to diving and snorkling enthusiasts is recommended. But also for lovers of sailing and windsurfing. The landings of Chioma, where there is also a diving for diving from the boat and Castiglioncello are an excellent starting point for excursions at sea.
Also recommended a relaxing walk through the beautiful Pineta Marradi, where the air is rich in iodine and wood essences.
From the two promontories that surround the bay of Castiglioncello you can enjoy a breathtaking view.
